THE WELLINGTON CLUB
The Wellington Club (Te Pou Maruwehi), established in December 1841, is the oldest private club in New Zealand. It is a great place to meet new people & make new friends. Membership is vibrant and currently sits at over 1,500 members. The Club admits men and women from a wide variety of professions, reflecting New Zealand’s diverse community and interests. Membership is by invitation and requires the support of existing members.
Members enjoy outstanding amenities & a sophisticated setting over three floors. The Wellington Club is renowned for its premium facilities which cater for up to 160 guests at dinners, weddings and other seated functions and up to 350 guests for cocktail parties and other standing events. There are flexible arrangements within the Club's small and large meeting and private dining rooms to adjust for differing numbers and requirements. Kitchens located on the 5th and 6th floors, both provide top quality New Zealand cuisine.








Membership at our Club is an invitation-only process that requires the backing of six existing members, including a proposer, seconder, and four referees. The first step in this process involves having your proposer complete and submit a nomination form along with your CV for consideration by the Committee.
